Snowy Tundra
Snowy Tundra
Traveling to the great glacier lagoon from Reykjavik the sun broke revealing this amazing beautiful white, blue and pink scene. Not a car in site I pulled our 4x4 over. jumping out into fresh powder I locked my camera in on the tripod and dialed in my exposure. I could feel the ice and snow under my Columbia boots and it sent chills through my body. Not from the cold but from the combination of having such contact from pure nature and this amazing scene that unfolded in front of me. The white, blues and pinks lightly lit the distant mountains we just passed. I pressed the shutter once and new this was it. it’s not an iconic location on the tourism guides but much like the rest of Iceland it presented itself like it was the most beautiful. When I look at this image I think of the unexpected and the thrill of exploration.
